In March 2020, movie theater doors closed across the United States, and NCM set out to create a baseline of measurement by which they could track potential changes in behavior and attitude of moviegoers as a result.
Utilizing their proprietary online community of uber-movie fans, they launched their first survey at the end of the month.
We are now in Q4 of 2021 and the COVID situation has drastically changed. Most restrictions have lifted and many have cautiously started returning to pre-pandemic life and enjoying their favorite things, like heading to the movies.
Last month, NCM completed their 10th survey in their series designed to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on moviegoer's lives and activities.
Inside the report, you'll learn how avid movie fans are embracing the return to the cinema:
- 92% have returned to theaters at some point over the pandemic.
- 86% are more comfortable returning to the theater as vaccinations have increased.
- 91% have resumed all, most, or some of their pre-COVID leisure activities.
